Guest guest
I'm a couple hours west of you in Bastrop. And yes, it is cold and wet here too! I'm stuck inside with two small and very active kids, one of which really needs to play outside as much as possible. I love making presents. I'm making a cookbook for my stepdaughter...Its a lot of fun. I've been crocheting an afghan for a month and a half now (and am only half way through) for my MIL. I do hope I can finish in time...Not only is it huge but uses the smallest stitches. Oh well, it will be gorgeous. Guest guest
I have just emailed the group that overseas organic farming in the U.S.A. to ask if they consider it acceptable that their producers affix stickers to peaches which most likely leave an animal based residue on my fruit. I pointed out that I was vegan and look forward to their reply. I am now going to contact people who package vegan products in cartons that require a glue based product to seal them, such as soy milk. When you remove the seal you are required to pour the product over the glue residue. I dont like this. I am one of those people who cringe when I see people licking stamps and envelopes. Guest guest
I have to say that I did not know that the stamps and envelope glue over there were not animal based. I simply assumed that they were. (the episode of seinfeld where she died from licking envelopes did not influence me) I have contacted 2 companies today re their products (and will get round to more)and hope that this practice is widespread and they all tell me the same thing NO ANIMALS in our glue. Guest guest
animal based glues, at least here, is sorta a thing of the past... fer the time being anyways most are either plant er petroleum based.... they still make some animal glues..but, i think they decided it was easier selling the rendered animal bits as animal protein....which is just as ick... Guest guest
They do not use animals according to their site. I went to www.elmers.com, then clicked on FAQ and it said: Do you use animals when making glue? No, Elmer's does not use animals or animal parts to make glue. Our products are made from synthetic materials and are not derived from processing horses, cows or any other animals.
