Guest guest Posted June 13, 2005 Report Share Posted June 13, 2005 I agree Mary. Our children used to sleep in bed with us when they wanted to - if they had bad dreams or couldn't sleep. I used often to sleep in my mums bed. It is quite normal. I think Michael Jackson was very niaive to assume it would not look wrong, and made bad choices. We also co-sleep. We have a King sized bed in which we all sleep on. We are thinking of changing this soon as, they are getting bigger, they should have their own beds, perhaps in the same room as us(at first) I don't however believe that once a child reaches a certain age they should still sleep with their parents. I Should think that It would be normal and desired that a Teenager should WANT to have their privacy, their independence. however, when someone is frightned or upset and needs companionship for that night, age shouldn't matter. I find it cold, when a newborn is put into their own room, in their own nursery and parents buy those plastic radio monitors/walkie talkies to hear the baby cry. that is just my opinion, but perhaps some are just following the ideas and books for the norm. Guest guest Posted June 14, 2005 Report Share Posted June 14, 2005 I, personally, think all, o.k., so most, journalists are a sack of poop! I watched the interview with Jackson on t.v. He said that he gives his bed to children to sleep in. He never said he sleeps in the bed with them. He also said that they would all sit around and watch television in his bedroom. Neither of which says he sleeps " with " the kids. However, what mother in their right mind takes her kids to the home of someone who was accused of being a pedophile 10 years ago. Wouldn't one be inclined to ere on the side of precaution? As far as the verdict, none of the witnesses against him were unimpeachable and thus a verdict of not guilty was the right verdict.
