Guest guest
Hi Scott. If your travels through western Europe ever lead you to Ireland then I have a spare room as long as you keep the country music on the headset and not let it roam free about my house. I am 100% rock and The Eagles are as country as I allow. Welcome to the show. Guest guest
My name is Larry. I've been reading your emails for a couple of weeks. I wanted to chat with vegans because I was going on a traditional summer vacation with my family. This is the first year I've been vegan and I was worried what eating cheese and milk would do. We have communal meals and they often involve cheese. It has been enough for my carnivorous family to adapt to vegetarianism on my behalf--I've been a vegetarian for many years. Anyway, I did just fine. I did "cut the cheese" a few times (I'm sure vegans invented that phrase). It was funny to watch my very polite nephew as he became enveloped in the elusive green fog. [sorry if that offends anyone.] I'm 54 and hate being old. I've studied metaphysics and the mysteries for years and have only recently been being totally pure. Being vegan is part of that in that I do not wish to ingest any additional animal--I'm enough of an animal without that. I also have an interest in history and I have an entire library to show for it. I've enjoyed your missives concerning paganism. I've dug up just about everything there is to know about Christianity and I've come to think it should better be called Constantinism since he initially set the whole thing up so to concentrate power in the hands of his megalomaniac self and then ran off any opposing group. Paganism had largely become corrupted so I don't object to some change. Anyway, I hope you don't mind me contributing to the conversation. I find you all fascinating and I've enjoyed the occasional news clips.

Guest guest
Hi Larry Enjoyed hearing from you but was dissapointed because I did not feel a lot of happiness coming through (hope that I am wrong). I am 53 and love being this age. I have as much energy and enthusiasm for life as I had when I was 18 but I think that it comes from feeling healthy. I view age as follows. On day one you are told that you have a certian period of time to spend here and you can choose your start year then which would you pick. I would still pick 1952 because I feel that I got to experience a different world and got a different set of values than I would if I picked 1972 (but then rural Ireland was a very different place in the fifties and sixtees). If you picked 1972 you are still going to get to be 54 some day. I am gradually moving beyond vegan to raw and am looking forward to it. Mary , " Larry Kelley " <earl@n...> wrote: > My name is Larry. Guest guest
Hi Larry I'm glad you've enjoyed reading the emails here. You will have to be brave and say no to cheese and dairy if you want to be vegan. If you cannot say no to it, you will have to call yourself vegetarian. I imagine that once you have told your family that you don't want eggs, cheese and milk, and suggest a few things that you can eat, it will work out well. If in doubt, take a couple of bags of mixed nuts, and some dried fruit with you and eat that instead of the meal they dish up. Good luck Jo - Larry Kelley Thursday, June 30, 2005 1:42 AM Re: Re: New to Vegan Chat My name is Larry. I've been reading your emails for a couple of weeks. Guest guest
I like getting older - if I didn't get older I'd be dead - and I know which I prefer. Guest guest
Welcome Larry, All messages welcome, the more the merrier. If you are into eating or miss eating products made with cow juice, there are a number of vegan scheeses/cheeses available ( in this country ( UK) at least, dont know about over the pond). Keep the posts coming , and any questions on veganism please ask, we seem to have gone off the subject lately! The Valley Vegan......Larry Kelley <earl wrote: My name is Larry.
