I reckon it is true - it is not a new theory. I have been aware of it for

about four years. Are you recently interested in conspiracy theories Vijay?

Hard to say if this is just for the theory. I need to be honest/open

here. THIS THING WAS IN THE NATIONAL NEWS YESTERDAY - (Avian Flu in

Siberia, several birds killed !!!) So, it is rather a SUCH A SCARY

THING as I have pet birds. This thing came off a pet bird list in my

E-Mail Box and looked too much for me to understand. So, I just came

here for help/understanding.

You might see from my posts, I was into consumerism a lot and ignorant

about several issues. Slowly, I am beginning to be aware of several

things. So, I learn things on topics that interest me whenever I can.

In this regard, I lag quite behind the rest of you in this list.

when i heard about this, it had nothing to do with avian flu at all....

it was linked with biological warfare, and the anthrax cases on the US east

coast

Possible. However, using Avians makes it look more natural. Specially,

since birds fly long distance for migration. Due to this several

people in Siberia started randomly shooting birds it is said. This

shocked the eco people as ecosystem can be drastically shocked due to

such sharp changes.

Also, a year or two ago, when there was the avian problem in

California some people with Pet Birds had their home cordoned off

etc., hence this is a concern for those with pet birds.

In terms of conspiracy, with the US ready to attack Iran, peak oil

getting more real everyday, US economy tanking slowly and China/Russia

showing their muscle, Avian flu might be a great distraction and

achieve several things smoothly if this theory is true.

I know it is a worry if you have birds. I would have felt the same if I

still had my little budgie.

I hope the whole avian flu thing doesn't turn out to be as big as the media

reckon it will be. I keep remembering SARS and hope this will be the same.

I have been interested in conspiracy theories for probably about six years.

There are so many. I keep a very open mind because they may or may not be

true. Lots of them, logically, do seem to be true. I think once you hae

become interested you view everything slightly differently to before.

It wasn't about avian flu when I first heard it either - I think it was

about AIDS, but basically it is the same theory about keeping the numbers of

humans on the Earth at a certain level.

Particularly with birds - thy fly and perch overhead and would spread germs

in a very random fashion.

Reduction of Global population mean lesser competition for todays

chance to stay in power, all opposition cheaply eliminated etc.,

its bull pucky

there's no such things as an anti-dote..

and, even immunization isn't 100%....

nothing is ever certain when it comes to disease

again, while i don't think much is beyond the scope of humanities stupidity,

this doesn't make sense

and, the whole thing about the dead microbiologists keeps popping up, its been

used to show conspiracy for any number of diseases..avian flu is just the latest

while someone might be knockin em off to keep their yaps shut, i doubt it very

highly it has anything to do with avian flu

any time a disease pops up and starts a panic, conspiracy theories are never far

behind

the facts are, flu is a highly mutatable disease..there are hundreds of

different viruses..and they change constantly

its only a matter of time til one starts a pandemic

and, since viruses(especially flu) mutate so fast, you CAN " T make people immune

from it...in 6 months it'll have changed, and yer immunity is worthless

no one stays in power if they are dead

and, if yer gonna make a disease and have it spread, why start with chickens? if

its a flu thats deadly to birds, and you want to wipe out ppl, why not start

with pigeons? they live in cities, and no one will notice if the pigeons start

dying out fer awhile,

if its starts in a domestic fowl population, yer gonna see a disease rather

quickly, which is exactly wot happened...

its an idiotic way to deliver a weapon

and, lets assume its the US that did it...for the reasons you toss out...

it doesn't make sense...we want MORE consumers, not less...the whole basis of

our economy and increasingly our culture is to consume more and more and

more...a wal mart on every corner! why you gonna kill off potential consumers,

and those folsk that work fer a whoppin buck a day.....

If US is going to attack Iran and they fear China will attack them

with Nukes, then the US may do this, don't you think ? Also mutations

etc., are true, but both Russia and US had stock piles of biological

weapons before the cold war. The theory of mutations actually debunks

the entire idea of biological weapons.

If those scientists didn't have something significant to talk about,

why were they silenced ?

we have a whole lot more nuclear bombs then china does

and, like i said, using the flu is a pretty dumbass way t oknock off people,

unless you want to kill yerself off at the same time..flu's travel around the

world in like 60 days

if the US was to use a biological weapon, they'd want something that could

pinpoint its victims, or had a short lifespan, so that it wouldn't travel very

far before it either died out er mutated into harmlessness

this is much more a weapon(if it was one) of those who have nuthin to lose

its just a viralent version of the flu..

besides, if it was a weapon, why the heck make it attack birds, and only

sometimes people? wot, someone got a phobia against budgies?

it makes no sense ...

You have some good points but we have to agree to disagree for now.

Time will tell, specially 6 MONTHS AFTER THE IRAN INVASION.

You and I are Vegan. However, poultry, eggs is still food for the

majority of the world. This will basically be an attack on food supply

as well.

then why not attack rice...

you can much easier stop a plant disease from hoppin continents then you can an

Not all the world eats rice For eg., Russia. Also, maybe there are

several logical problems for this. How to justify it spread on other

continents etc., ? If it is easy for US to stop this plant disease

then it must also be easy for the others.

Avians solve all these issues very smoothly.

vijay....in the US we average 86 lbs of chicken eaten per person per year....

over 30 billion pounds of chicken...

again...why you gonna make a weapon out of wot you eat as well

unless somehow its a vegan conspiracy?

again..makes no sense

step back and view the big picture vijay

the whole thing makes no sense

yer not gonna poison yer own food supply as well...

americans love their nasty mcnuggets...

wot i said was a plant pathogen can be much easier stopped by continental

barriers..(though evnetually in the fast moving mobile society we have they'd be

broken as well..)

if you infect animals, especially birds, it would be suicide....

the only way yer hypothesis would work is if one country was already at war with

another(a shooting war)..cuz then you wouldn't be trading between each other,

and u could quarrantine anything that slipped out much easier...

why not reduce some domestic population as well ?
