Here are the 700 items that school districts are encouraged to collect from parents about themselves and their children. All of this put into a district database which is then transferred to a state database which in turn is transferred to a federal database.

Hi lynda,

speaking of databases, unbeknownst to me

my sons picture and info was taken at his school and sent to a National Database where all the police precints in the Country

can access it through a computer.

This was done in case he gets kidnappaed or is Missing.

I think it's a good idea, however they never bothered to tell the parents. It was just done and we found out after the fact.

also when I was preegie two and a half years ago,

I went to a doctor, and an assistant took a little of my blood, which I thought was just routine or something.

two weeks later there is a message on my answering machine

saying that my Aids test was negative and that my DNA had been examined at a lab

and looked like no inheritant diseases!

I didn't now that they could do that without me signing anything.

They said it was in case he goes missing, but you shouldn't believe

everything you hear.

Not legal to ID your kid without your permission. Nor is it legal to test anyone for HIV without their permission. There was a BIG lawsuit over this a few years ago. Went all the way to the Supreme Court.

I suspect that's the *excuse* they're giving for ID'ing all the kids... but if you think about it, there's no way that being on a database would prevent someone from being kidnapped and killed!

i thought so,

usually when something feels like it's a violation of your rights, its usually because it is. It figures.
