Guest guest
HI All What sort of exercise do you do, and do you consider it to be enough for you. I don't exercise as much as I should. I walk daily, but need to do more. Many years ago, Peter used to keep me fit with badminton and table tennis. Kids in general keep you busy. I used to do ballroom and Latin American dancing, until I had a knee injury, and then did Tai Chi until I got a frozen shoulder, which takes about a year to get better. I am now out of the habit of exercising other than walking. Jo
Guest guest
Hi Jo I use to belong to a health club, use to do aerobics minimum 3x times a week and use to lift a bit of weights (no bulk, just tone). Now I have no time. So I stretch and luckily do alot of walking with work. Not enough but some. And then of course there's running after Zak and playing plus neighborhood walks. I do need to shape up a bit more though. Just tone, definately not lose any weight! Zak is thinking of martial arts and I may rejoin if he takes it up. I really want to get into Yoga and/or Tai Bo. Guest guest
Hi Nikki It sounds like you have made quite an effort in the past. When you have youngish children they keep you very busy. When mine were at primary school I used to walk them to school, walk home, walk back to collect them and walk home, which meant 6 miles a day. What with that and playing with them, I got enough exercise. After having a couple of problems my exercise has decreased to a state where I am no longer fit, and I must motivate myself now to to exercise that will get me fitter without setting off my knee again. Entropy! Guest guest
Hi Jo That is definately something that can get in the way of a lot of things. Are you able to bike ride? In the summer Zak and I try to go at least every other week for a nice ride. Usually we will bike to a playground and then play and bike back. They say that walking is one of the best exercises that you can do for your heart. I personally need to start dedicating a bit more time to myself, health and mental wise. Too much work, way too much computer (work and pleasure). But playing is definately my fav exercise of all! Guest guest
I hear that walking is one of the best excercises, because it also is much lower impact than a lot of excercises. I use a recumbant bike for cardio, but I like what walking does for my whole body.jo <jo.heartwork wrote: HI AllWhat sort of exercise do you do, and do you consider it to be enough foryou.I don't exercise as much as I should. Guest guest
I do very little exercise, and should do more. I usually walk briskly for the train in the morning ( 30 mins ) six days a week., and very rarely take my daughters out on their bikes ( usually end up waiting more than riding ). Dont seem to have the time or the inclination, having to get up at 05:30 every morning, and not getting home until 17:45. Its a drag. The Valley Vegan................. Guest guest
Hi Jonnie I do too and I miss it as well. I think that the self discipline and respect that is taught will be good for Zak too. Nikki , Jonnie Hellens <jonnie_hellens> wrote: > I used to LOVE martial arts! Well I still do, but am not doing it. My daughter was a timid thing against anybody else but me, then she came out like a tiger (and lots of other animals too) at me. There was this cute little thing that drove me nuts when I had to spar him. He was a little bitty thing, but he was a dynamo... he couldn't block for beans, so I didn't want to hurt him, but he moved fast with feet and fists and everything else flying. I sometimes wanted to put my hand on his little head to hold him still for a moment so I could catch my breath! >
