I got a new food dehydrator and ahve been making fruit snacks with it.

I take these dehydrated fruits to work for small snacks. These are

healthy and a great alternative to those egg muffins. I encourage

everyone to try a food dehydrator if possible, it takes a little

getting used to but is worth it.

The kidlet says ya gotta do strawberries. They are like eating candy and

they melt in your mouth!

Her second favorite is doing fruit leathers in the dehydrator. Kids love

them and if you make your own they aren't full of garbage like corn syrup

and other weird stuff!

Yes, strawberries are great. I don't have the fruit leather

attachment. But still good to eat the fruits as such.

Hi Vijay

We love our dehydrator here! Especially for all of the hot peppers

and herbs we grow in the garden. We make our own seasoning with them

and also use our peppers all year round this way.

Unfortunately we no longer do fruit due to all of the hot peppers

we've put in there over the years.

I also use it for drying veggies to make soups in the winter.

Hi Vijay/Nikki

I've never heard of a dehydrator. Sounds quite interesting.

Yes, Jo. A dehydrator is also great pleasure to use and is giving me a

sense of deep contentment/happiness.

Here is the site again:

www.nesco.com

PDF manuals with complete info/instructions can be downloaded from

there for free.

Hi Jo

It is!

It is basically a machine that has a circular base. You have 5-8

plastic trays that have vents in them. They are about 1'2 " - 1 " thick

and stack on top of one another and then a plastic top.

You arrange your veggies/fruite/herbs etc on the trays, stack them and

then turn it on.

Hot air circulates through the trays and out the top and dries your

food.

I was going to copy a link of a picture, but they are all quite long.

But i found a couple of nice one at target.com by

searching " dehydrator " .
