Guest guest
this will be the last thing i have to say on this, as my point i think was misconstrued, and folks were gettin upset, and that was not my intention at all but.. i can recall the ONLY time we had a parent go with us to a show... in about 1983, er maybe real early 1984..me and my friend mike got tickets to go see the clash up in harftford connecticut neither of us had a car, so we bought an extra ticket fer another friend of ours so he could drive us..(egads, he was ancient! he was like..19! and in college!! )(hee hee) anyways day of the show arrives and our friend never materializes great so...mike's dad sez, " fine, i'll take you, and i'll go in " we were very..ummm..disturbed by the idea..but..we needed a ride and it was last minute..sooo..we went ok... 1. the entire show mike's father sat in the waaaaaaaaaay back...a look of consternation and absolute anger on his face 2. at one point, a pair of women were making out against the same wall he was leaning against...lets just say the look of revulsion on his face has lasted me a lifetime.... 3. at least three times during the clash's set, mike's dad would grab mike out of the pit and tell him " we are leaving, NOW! " ..at one point, security came up cuz they thought he was harrassing us... i'm not gonna tell ya wot we did....made fer a very long bitter ride home 4. all nite long mike's dad has his hand in the inside of his coat...i thought it starnge..but..wotever..i was there to enjoy myself come to find out later...he had a gun..and kept a deathgrip on it all nite long.... fraggle When they kick out your front door How you gonna come? With your hands on your head Or on the trigger of your gun When the law break in How you gonna go? Guest guest
What a difference. My mother and I used to sing Tutti Fruitti and Good Golly Miss Molly and after my parent's divorced, my dad's neighbor was Sonny Barger and my dad, my little sister and I used to all tinker on Harleys on the weekend over at Sonny's. My mom drove an Old 4-4-2, my dad had an Indian and a Harley. The family that does to concerts and tinkers on muscle cars and Harleys stays together <g> Lynda - " fraggle " <EBbrewpunx Wednesday, October 19, 2005 4:34 PM my last point on parents and their kidlets going to shows > this will be the last thing i have to say on this, as my point i think was > misconstrued, and folks were gettin upset, and that was not my intention > at all > > but.. > i can recall the ONLY time we had a parent go with us to a show... > > in about 1983, er maybe real early 1984..me and my friend mike got tickets > to go see the clash up in harftford connecticut > neither of us had a car, so we bought an extra ticket fer another friend > of ours so he could drive us..(egads, he was ancient! he was like..19! and > in college!! )(hee hee) > anyways > day of the show arrives > and our friend never materializes > great > so...mike's dad sez, " fine, i'll take you, and i'll go in " > we were very..ummm..disturbed by the idea..but..we needed a ride and it > was last minute..sooo..we went ok... > > 1. the entire show mike's father sat in the waaaaaaaaaay back...a look of > consternation and absolute anger on his face > 2. at one point, a pair of women were making out against the same wall he > was leaning against...lets just say the look of revulsion on his face has > lasted me a lifetime.... > 3. at least three times during the clash's set, mike's dad would grab mike > out of the pit and tell him " we are leaving, NOW! Guest guest
Ah well - Colin and I go because we are passionate about the music. The only times I could possible embarrass Peter would be if I was singing out of tune too loudly - I think! Guest guest
Hi Peter We were queueing to get into Morbid Angel once, and there was a couple in front of us - the woman in a little fur jacket and matching hat, with a handbag, and the man in a suit. It turns out they thought they were queueing for Hooty and the Blowfish. Guest guest
Hi Fraggle I shouldn't talk about people but there's a chap at work who is changing into a woman. Unfortunately she tends to wear much too much makeup and much too tight skirts and trousers etc. - way over the top. Oh well. Guest guest
it depends on what you get in the parent lottery. I'm not complaining, but with my mom, I was brought up very strict. you could say we were almost puritans. I wasn't allowed to go out if the sun had set. My dad's side was more liberal, being that they americanized very quickly, originally from Lebanon. they came to the ny in the 1940's and drank and smoke. it was two different worlds. If I had to pick a family, I think I would choose to be a brady bunch kid, because they parents, where there sometimes where not, it was california and the kids did fun goofy things. , " Lynda " <lurine@s...> wrote: > > What a difference. Guest guest
ROFL!!! You see and without that experience you would have not had this story to tell! Too funny! My father would have probably told me he couldn't take it anymore, gave me advice on what not to do and then told me what time he would pick me up outside. Afterwards I would have gotten a talk on what he didn't like. But see, then my Dad probably would not have gone in in the first place because it is not his type of music.
