At least when I go to a concert I know I'm going to like the band/s.

Sometimes the support band ends up being a future favourite too.

even if i'm not working, sometimes i'll go to a show where i'll hate half the

bands because my friends are there

unfortunately fer me, i hate metal(sorry jo, nikki, peter, etc)..and the east

bay scene has gotten waaaaaaay too metal over the last few years...

so, 75% of the shows will have some band i can't stand on the bill

Well, the Bay Area has spawned it's own little revolution in metal...

admittedly nothing dramatically new for the past about 10 years, but with

all the bands that came from there in the early 1990s, it is to US metal

what New Orleans was to Jazz!

yeah..but thats the metal scene

the bay area use to(and still does) have a gigantic punk scene

it just seems like in the last 5-8 yrs, the east bay punk scene has

degenerated(sorry fer using that terminology) into metal...

too much metal influence....

not my style at all...

But they've all gone mad now

Well you'd be pretty mad too

Fed the shit from other dead things

Then chopped to bits...

I heard a track on the radio ( Mike Davies on Radio1 : www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/alt/thelockup/ ), then checked the album out.

This is a review of their live dvd/cd , and it just about sums them up :

Hi Peter

Good point. I was trying to think if any new sounds had come out of

the Bay Area metal scene over the last few years. It might be that I

am out of touch as I generally (apart from DT and Spocks Beard) find

European metal more innovative.

Hi Peter

So Radio 1 does have some good uses then - I haven't listened for

years. I had a long running letter writing campaign with them to try

to get them to play more metal - but it wasn't 'cutting-edge' enough

for them, allegedly!

Yes he also does the rock show at some ungodly hour 3 am or something, and the good thing is you can view tracklistings and play the show again, or skip bits ..............technology eh?
