Guest guest
You will know a buckwheat noodle, they are a darker color, completely different taste and look like this cooked up in a dish http://www.insanitytheory.net/cookery/buckwheatnoodles1.gif I find them at the Japanese market but I know many of you don't have these types of grocery stores near you. You can also find plenty of ingredients here at Asian grocer online http://www.asianfoodgrocer.com/index.asp?PageAction=PRODSEARCH --- Bev <bdowns45681 wrote: > Oh yea, and the soba noodles at Wal Mart didn't have > buckwheat in > them unless buckwheat is just regular wheat... > Bev > > > > , Chupa Babi > <recetta > wrote: > > > > I get my soba noodles at Krogers. Guest guest
Buchwheat is not a form of or a dirivative of wheat. It is an entirely different grain. I use it a lot, cooked so it is not mushy, it make a nice meat substitute in taco and pretty much what you would use ground beef for. Guest guest
Buckwheat has a very strong taste. Would it not sort of overwhelm the other ingredients? My mother made buckwheat waffles when I was a kid; and I really disliked them. But maybe that was just a kid thing. I would be willing to give them another try. amy ______________________________\ ____ Looking for a deal?
