I doubt I will be able to find tansy around here. I'd

love to give the recipe a try. Maybe I could sub it.

Give me a clue as to what I could sub it with.

When I make my zucchini bread I can pretty much use

the basic recipe and sun the zucchini for grated

asparagus or chayote, chayote is quite moist so I

press the water out of it after it's been grated.

Oh and whatever magic potion you are making for your

boss send me the same in extra strength........and mix

a bunch of cascara in it too....LOL

I don't have that plant, Cascara Sagrada (Rhamnus

purshiana), or rather tree, although I can get it.

Don't know if it would fit in the yard though.

I can get Buckthorn Bark (Rhamnus frangula) from

Lhasa Karnak in Berkeley though which has similar

effects.

Tansy has been substituted for sage. Possibly

the other direction will work. I wonder if lovage

would work.

If you live near a populated area (do I remember

Southern California or is that some false memory

implant?) I would bet there is someplace where

you could buy but admittedly not in any normal

grocery stores.

I could send you some leaves if you like. Tansy

has also been used in omelettes and custards/puddings.

Great Gary, I will email you my address and I'll make

you a CD in return.

I will make those cookies. I love to make cookies

with herbs in them, very unique flavor!

Just a little side note on Tansy...lol..

It is DEADLY ....to COWS....

In our area, you are required by law, to pull it and burn it...it tends to

spread as fast as dandy-lions do...

There are plus's and minus's to all things .

Try your zucchini bread recipe with yellow summer squash. I always add just a

bit less liquid, but it comes out with a crunchy, almost grainly crust. Yummy.

I like it getter than real zunnhini break.
