Guest guest
The Soyajoy machine is on sale for $89,99 with free shipping & the Soyapower machine is $129,95 & free shipping also. My household is small, only 3 adults & chances are I'm the only one who will be drinking the milk. DS will try anything so if he liked it, he'd drink it. The listed retail prices of the machines is $137.95 & $169.95. Are those inflated retail prices or are the sale prices the average prices for the machines. What I'm wondering is that these machines might be on sale again closer to Christmas? I'm definitely interested in getting one soon & I'd rather wait a month or two. thanks, Rhoda -- Rhoda Jayne

Guest guest
Check on eBay....looks like the Soyajoy people are selling the new machines there. They seem to be going for upper $80 to lower $90 range with free shipping. Guest guest
Rhoda, I bought a soy milk maker a couple of weeks ago (in Australia) and the milk it made was watery and almost tasteless. The company agreed to take the machine back and refund my money. While searching the web for other machines that might work better I came across the joysoy, or soyjoy. The photo showed it was the same as the machine as the one I returned but with a different name. There are people on this list who say the joysoy makes good soy milk for them. If I were buying another one with a different name I would first check that they would take it back if it didn't work properly and as advertised. Cheers, Harry The Soyajoy machine is on sale for $89,99 with free shipping & the Soyapower machine is $129,95 & free shipping also. Guest guest
I forgot the one that I saw on the Vegtv site, soyquik. I went to a site where 4 different ones were reviewed & the above ones were the ones that were recommended. The other one not recommended was soytoy. I'm also curious about ordering the Laura beans. 14 pounds is a lot of beans. I wonder how much milk that would make. Guest guest
Hi Rhoda, Soyquick & SoyaJoy were the two brands I went back and forth about. I don't know about the others, but I tracked the prices of those two, on and off, for about a year before buying my SoyaPower at the end of last year. If my memory is right, and it may not be, the " sale " prices on both websites didn't change by more than $10 at any point, but I have no idea if last year was an exception and either company generally runs holiday sales. (You probably already noticed this, but SoyQuick has a monthly drawing for a free machine: http://www.soymilkquick.com/win-a-soymilk-maker.html ) As far as the beans, it's 80 to 100 grams soybeans (dry measures) to make six cups of soy milk using the SoyaPower, so 14 pounds should keep you happy for a long time Hope that helps! Peace, Maureen Rhoda Jayne wrote: > I forgot the one that I saw on the Vegtv site, soyquik. Guest guest
Hi again, Just thought I would contribute my two bits worth, again!!! Any soy milk that you make might look like it is not as " rich " as you would like. I can't take credit for something I do. My young friend pointed this out to me. After the soy milk cycle is finished in my SoyJoy soymilk maker, I unplug the machine for about 30 seconds to a minute, to let it " rest " . Then I replug it in to the electrical power, then run it through another cycle. This doesn't take as long as the first cycle, as the milk is already extremely hot. It seems the additional grinding of the pulp, makes the milk look richer and fuller. Not as weak as it looks the first time through. Just thought I should impart this bit of " wisdom " . And it seems to make the milk taste better. Jeremy and I use the milk plain as it comes out of the machine, after it has cooled and been refrigerated. You can flavor it with some vanilla extract and a bit of salt, or any other flavorings you might want to use. If I were to flavor it, I would stick to the vanilla extract. Now if I could only get it to taste like that commercially produced milk, Silk brand Vanilla flavored soy milk. That stuff is so yummy. Sincerely, Karla Williams
