Guest guest
I love these sweet delights from Antigua Guatemala, my Grandma Lolita used to take us children to the Central Park on Christmas Eve to delight or palates, and since I was brought to the USA I have missed eating them, I finally found the recipe after years of searching. Please enjoy Azul Marino http://blog.360./blog-u6Q3IEo9eqO8OmsBA2tiguCLTJUWiH0f;_ylt=Ajf\ 1siZ0288BI01DUGIZwc3HAOJ3 Recipe origin: Guatemala Ingredients * 1 cup organic flour * 1 teaspoon organic baking powder * Pinch of organic salt * 1 cup water * ¼ pound organic butter * 3 organic eggs * Olive or Vegetable oil, for deep-frying Procedure 1. Stir together the flour, baking powder, and salt. 2. Combine the water and butter in a heavy saucepan and bring to a boil. 3. Remove from heat, and use a wooden spoon to mix in the flour mixture. 4. Mix in the eggs, 1 at a time. 5. Heat the oil in a deep skillet over medium to high heat. 6. Shape the batter into balls about the size of a golf ball. 7. Carefully slip them into the oil. 8. Be sure not to crowd the skillet (cook separate batches, if necessary). 9. Using the wooden spoon, keep moving the bunuelos around so they will puff up and brown evenly. 10. When golden brown, remove them to a plate lined with paper towels. 11. Top with cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar, or serve with a side of honey. 12. Serve warm. Makes about 30 bunuelos.
