Hello there!

I just joined this site and the moderators suggest I introduce

myself. I'm Jerry and my wife Sue and I have been vegetarians for

over 30 years. Our two children Jay (now 28) and Jessica (27) are

living proof that it works! I am an Accountant/Internal Auditor

working in the Museum/Heritage sector and my wife is a retired

College lecturer.

We have lived in Hertfordshire for the past 23 years and are planning

to return to Surrey where we lived before. I work at Hampton Court

Palace, so reducing the journey time back and forth is one of the

main reasons for moving!

I run 3 myself ( different interest areas to this one)

so the following question is perhaps for the site owners and sorry if

I'm being slow on the uptake! The question is this: I am looking at

the " Veggie Restaurants " file under " Files " . I note there are no UK

restaurants listed. I would like to add some. On my sites there is

an " Add files " tab at the top of the screen but it may be that I have

that as I am a moderator. On the " Veggie Restaurants " file on this

site I can't see how to add files: or is the protocol on this site

that all requests to add files go through the moderator or orginators

of the existing files? I appreciate that will be

configured in different ways. Please advise :)!

Well done all for what looks like a VERY active site!

Best Wishes,

Jerry

Hi Jerry

Welcome to the group. I'm another long-term UK vegetarian - 40 years

now and vegan since last November. I'm based up in Edinburgh, although

my dad lives in Hertfordshire. Hampton Court Palace must be a beautiful

place to work.

This is a great group with massive files and the volume of posts can be

massive. I expect Donna will have been in touch with you but files have

to be added by her or the other wonderful people who make this group

work as smoothly as it does. Are you familiar with Happy Cow? They have

a great index of vegetarian restaurants and health food stores

worldwide at http://www.happycow.net/

Hi Jerry, and welcome to the group. I am also from England but " up North " ,

Liverpool. I have been on the group for ages but due to many problems in

" real life " this last year have not contributed much but am starting to try

to be around more now.

I admire you running 3 , I run just one and it takes so much of

my time it is hard to do it all at times but that is probably my own fault

because when I started it I offered to produce a monthly vegetarian cookbook

(in MasterCook format though, not plain text) not quite realising what I was

taking on :-(.

Anyway, welcome and I am sure you will enjoy this group enormously.

What is the link/address to your group Carolyn? I would like to take

a look? But I don't know where you find the time, I do run a

group, but couldn't possibly think of taking on another, it takes so

much of my time up! (Mine has nothing to do with food at all, I

collect old fashioned baby prams/carriages and it is about those! LoL)

Hi Sandra

Sorry I am late responding, I am a little behind on my mail, just trying to

catch up. The group is at

VegetarianMasterCookFormatting/. To be

honest, I am not sure where I find the time myself! The end of the month in

particular is manic as I try to format the month's recipes into a cookbook,

and I get a bit stressed, but when it is done it is so worth it - and I get

lots of great recipes too :-).

Wow not heard of anyone collecting baby prams/carriages, do you mean full

size ones? If so, how many have you got and where do you store them??
