Guest guest
Hey David, I am originally from Lancaster PA and we had corn pone all the time. Mom would fry it up in her wonderful well used and worn cast iron skillet then we would put it in a bowl and put milk and sugar on it...sometimes molasses or King Syrup. Gosh, you made my mouth water thinking of that! LOL I havent had it in sooooo long. Thanks for the memories. Guest guest
Roxy, And in turn, my Mom thanks you for the memories. I asked her whether she had corn pone while growing up in Lebanon, PA. She may have, she doesn't recall, but King Syrup on the other hand, that was a staple of their table and was used on and in everything! Peanut butter and King Syrup sandwiches/toast was one of her and her sisters' favorites. My sis and I like it too. -Erin http://www.vegandonelight.com http://www.zenpawn.com/vegblog , " Roxy " <K9ChemoNurse wrote: > > Hey David, > I am originally from Lancaster PA and we had corn pone all the time. > Mom would fry it up in her wonderful well used and worn cast iron > skillet then we would put it in a bowl and put milk and sugar on > it...sometimes molasses or King Syrup. Guest guest
I have never heard of King syrup. What is it? I have never had corn pone, but think this old northern girl needs to learn something new. Katie , " Erin " <truepatriot wrote: > > Roxy, > > And in turn, my Mom thanks you for the memories.
