I grew up in the midwest but have lived in moscow Idaho for the last 5 years. > > > what are your favorite places to shop for groceries and health foods, and > other healthy products for your body. ETC.? We have a wonderful Farmer's Market on Saturdays and I buy most of our organic produce there. I also shop frequently shop at Moscow Food Co-Op. What are those products? Lettuce, heirloom tomatoes, many. many varieties of peppers, brocolli, onions, radishes, zucchini and other summer squash, green beans, beets, kale, chard, peaches, plums, cherries, nectarines, melons, apples, pears, Asian pears, basil, winter squash. I'm sure I'm leaving something out. They also have baked goods and prepared meals. I LOVE our Farmer's Market! For everything else I shop at the Co-op. Tofu, tempeh, soy milk, organic milk (for my husband), yogurt, whole wheat pasta, brown rice, wild rice, split peas, lentils (they carry 4 kinds!), other dried beans, flour, etc. They also have a deli where they carry many wonderful salads, entrees, and desserts. They have made to order sandwiches (my fav. is Tempeh Rubin) and 2 choices for each meal. One is always vegetarian and usually vegan. Their in-house bakery is great. This is the best co-op I've ever visited and I've been to several in Indiana, Illinois, Oregon and Texas. Have you ever been to Bob's Red Mill in Portland OR? I've only been twice but it is an awesome place to visit! My daughter lives there and I usually send her a list of things to pick up for me when she is coming to visit. Guest guest
I've lived in New Hampshire my whole life. Aside from some local farmers markets, I do my grocery shopping at Hannaford: http://www.hannaford.com/home.shtml This place rocks! Lots of good organic food (they have their own brands of many) and produce with a double-your-money-back return policy. -Erin http://www.vegandonelight.com http://www.zenpawn.com/vegblog

Guest guest
I live in SW Arkansas about 60 miles north of Texarkana AR/TX. Locally I have a WalMart supercenter & a Harvest foods. I don't know yet what I'll be able to find in Texarkana & I go there a few times a month. I have doctor appointments in Shreveport, Louisisana about once every 3 months, so I know of a health food store there. I checked & they have a really nice online store too. I'm going there in 2 weeks so I have a small list of things that I know they have in stock. Rhoda On 9/4/07, wwjd <jtwigg wrote: > > Hi Folks, > Our question of the week, comes from Jeff. Guest guest
I'm from northwest Ohio, where vegetarians are few and far between. The nearest whole foods market is out of reach, so I just have Aldi, Kroger, IGA, and Great Scot grocery stores. Kroger probably has the best selection of vegetarian products and organic produce. I have yet to get a grain mill for my mixer, so I buy flour wherever it's cheapest, grow my own corn and green beans, as well as tomatoesm raspberries, and blackberries. I've made freezer jam for years, freeze corn, and can green beans and tomato juice. I also made applesauce last year. Sarah

Lots of good organic food (they have their own brands of many) and produce with a double-your-money-back return policy. I'm in NY (60 miles north of Manhattan) and a new Hannaford store just opened in July.? It is now the only store I need to go to for everything I might need.? Rocks, indeed!!? Most impressive is the fact that much of what they sell is organic.? Quality is fantastic (even their own brands) and prices are right.? At one time I did all my shopping in the A & P.? Expensive and too mainstream for me.? I'd go as far to say that Hannafords is the best grocery store I've ever shopped in (outside of Wegmans in Ithaca, NY which is five hours away from me and where my oldest daughter resides).? Anyone familiar with Wegmans knows exactly what I'm talking about. TM ______________________ Email and AIM finally together. Guest guest
I was born in Alaska and have lived around the world, but keep coming back. Now I live in Anchorage and will stay here, God willing. I shop mostly at Safeway. We have a huge store just 1/2 mile away and it has a large well stocked health food section with lots of vegetarian choices. There is also a Costco nearby and I shop there, also, as they are getting more and more vegetarian things. There is also Natural Pantry, but they are so expensive that I dont go there unless I want something that only they carry. Katie Boardwalk for $500? In 2007? Ha! Play Monopoly Here and Now (it's updated for today's economy) at Games.
Guest guest
I live in central Virginia. I have a lot of food allergies and live in a very rural area, so I'm a little restricted as to where I can shop and buy mostly organic and very few processed foods. My local Kroger just renovated and now has a wonderful large health food section, and that is where I get the bulk of my groceries. I buy produce there, but drive an hour and a half away to a large farm for fresh produce when I can. I buy natural products such as soaps and shampoos at a local health food store in a neighboring town. I also buy some things online. I have started reading up on using natural ingredients for cleaning and am starting to make my own with vinegar, etc. I usually get some fruits and veggies from family and friends and my own garden, but gardens didn't do too well here this year due to dry weather. I'm hoping to start an herb garden next year and rely more on local farmers as much as possible. Michelle On 9/4/07, wwjd <jtwigg wrote: > > Hi Folks, > Our question of the week, comes from Jeff. Wegman's has a wonderful selection of fresh veggies. For anything organic, I usually purchase these products at Wegmans.
