I live in Battle Creek, MI - which is halfway between Detroit and Chicago and....... what are your favorite places to shop for groceries and health foods, and other healthy products for your body. ETC.? What are those products? Once a month I drive to Ann Arbor (home of U of M and the Big House) and go shopping at Whole Foods and Trader Joes. Here in town I get most of my stuff at Zucca's - they have a great organic/ethinc/generally what people around here call " odd " food half of the store, the local co-op, and Walmart Laura *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ " Any change, any loss, does not make us victims. My favorite places to shop for groceries include Ralph's, Stater Brothers, and 99cents only Stores which they're walking distances from my house/bus stops. I'd like to shop at stores like Trader Joes or Wal Mart but those are not really a walking distances. I don't have much time to eat at home cause of my extremely busy schedule so I have to buy salad mix, and some veggies. Guest guest
I'm from Southern New Jersey, about 20 mins outside of Philadelphia. I often go to Trader Joes. There is also a health food store near me (Natural Health) that I stop by and pick up essentials (like soy milk). If I'm in the city, I go to The Reading Terminal Market. They have a lot of fresh veggies and organic stuff. Plus, they sell free herbs, along with unique and ethnic ingredients. I'll tell you my favorite indulgence - " Purely Decadent " soy ice cream in Peanut Butter Zig Zag. Guest guest
I'm in the San Francisco Penninsula, and in this area we have a marvelous small chain called Mollie Stones. I can always count on finding good organic produce, unusual food items from around the world, and in the summer, on Fridays, a barbeque, where I can get a grilled portobello sandwich. I also get aweekly box of organic, locally grown veggies from my local farmers co-op, and TJ's for the odd item occassionally. Lex

Guest guest
I am from Southern California, the Inland Empire. I shop at Henry's farmers market in Temecula and Hemet, I shop at Trader Joe's in Temecula, Albertsons in Murrieta has a fair selection of ethnic and vegetarian, Toms Farms on the border of Lake Elsinore/Corona, Loma Linda Market in Loma Linda also has good veg options. I would love the next question of the week to be : Name vegetarian and vegan restaurants and cafes in your vicinity, here they are hard to find (at least for me) Ann in SoCal
Guest guest
Hi Lynn I'm up in Edinburgh and I've found that even the wee Tesco Metro here is stocking more dried beans and brown rice and other grains etc in their whole foods range. They usually have tofu and veggie pate in the organic chiller cabinet section. I'm vegan so none of their vegetarian ready meals are any good for me but I've noticed that breads like naan bread are now being labelled as suitable for vegans. I've found their 5 half price veggies each week this year have been quite a good buy. Guest guest
I am Carolyn from Liverpool and I shop online at Sainsbury's Tesco's or Asda, depending on my needs - and whoever stocks the most quorn items :-). For more special items I go to Holland & Barrett once a month or so, and to an international market shop in the centre of town which stocks the most weird and wonderful ingredients form all over the world, including fresh veggies. Lynn, Tesco do a pretty extensive (well as extensive as any major supermarket of course, which is never huge) range of vegetarian ready meals if that is what you are looking for? I don't go in for ready meals often but I can recommend their roasted vegetable lasagna :-).
