They are soooooooo bland, and the texture doesn't even remotely resemble that of hot dogs. A large percentage of vegetarians I know won't eat veggie dogs - one gentleman said he doesn't think of them as food. (That's the way I usually describe meat!) My kids do, but they get some out before I add the onions, since they don't really care for them, given a choice. It is great with most any bread or pita pocket, but especially with a heart multigrain bread or rustic chewy french bread. I love it on saltines too. I've gotten lately where I even use a food processor instead of mashing them with a fork. It is so quick and easy. Any of the Vegetarian hot dogs would be good this way.
