Guest guest
Judy are you talking about the steel cut hard as a rock oats that look like pellets? You can't eat those raw. I know some folks that put the uncooked oats in their furit smoothies they make to add extra nutrition. Lately I've been wondering if it's okay to eat if it has only been baked for short time required for granola. Do you think it is done enough to digest properly? bonnieb

Guest guest
well I thought I had eaten steel cut oats and didn't notice much diffence between the flake size of that and Ouakers. Maybe I haven't actually. I do eat the regular flakes and make oat flour in my Vita Mix out of it. Donna would know more, so listen to her. Guest guest
No, after looking at those pictures, I wasn't. Thanks for the pictures. These remind me of the oat groats that I saw a demonstration of a grain mill, making into flakes like the large canister of Quaker Oats. Guest guest
Bonnie I used to work at Golden Temple Bakery many years ago. As I recall, we used steel cut oats in the granola. It was fine. I would not use it in any blender drink though. It should be cooked to digest properly.
