Does anyone know how cool they have to be, to stay in storage? My basement isn't cool like some, until winter. I have a root cellar at work. I imagine the refrigerator is too cold. Anyone? Guest guest
I assume you are referring only to winter squash. About those, you are right about the refrigerator. I use acorn squash most because I like it best. I just store it in a wire basket hanging in the pantry. It occasionally turns orange before I use it, but that doesn't seem to effect it at all. Summer squash should always be stored in the refrigerator. Katie akfral wrote: I have (so far) some spaghetti squash and some patty pan squash. Guest guest
I still have butternut squash from last fall in my basement in a cardboard box sitting on a counter. Just made 2 last week...getting dry but still ok.
