One person, on hearing that I was vegetarian actually patted my shoulder sympathetically and said " Oh, I'm so sorry! " Still, I am making some difference, I think. Last week I served some vegan chili to our church group and all the guys loved it. Have to go to a specialty grocer to get anything above the bare minimum. Thankfully we have a supermarket called Wegmans that really does a nice job.
