Guest guest
I enjoy traveling up to Birmingham when I get a chance. Haven't been for a while. I love seeing that Statue of Liberty when we are going north on I 65. Always wanted to stop and see if there was a park there or something. The Summit has a great shopping area. Love to stop there when we go thru. We went over to Tuscaloosa once, when we went to the Indian Mounds just south of there. Sounds like you have a very long trip back here to see the family. We have a vary long trip to see family in the Toronto area. I do love looking at the scenery on they way though. We put on Books on CD/Cassette when we are on those long road trips and the time flies. It also has us looking out the window instead of down at a book. There's a wall there with names of Scouts, not sure what for, though FIL could say - he had DH's and BIL's names put on it. I found some info online about the statue: http://www.endex.com/gf/buildings/liberty/worldstatues/liberties/Birmingham/Birm\ inghamSOL.htm or http://tinyurl.com/hh7ab > Sounds like you have a very long trip back here to see the family. Yup. From here, we fly! (Have only visited once since moving here.) > We have a vary long trip to see family in the Toronto area. I do > love looking at the scenery on they way though. I like books on tape too... especially since I can't read in a moving vehicle without getting sick! :-)

Guest guest
I'm from the San Francisco East Bay area but my family and I lived in Crystal Lake from around 1961 to 1964. I think I was in 5th through 7th grade. So I'm not near you but I liked living there (well, I like the winters here better). Guest guest
I grew up in Skokie and Wilmette, then lived in Buffalo Grove, have been in Stamford Connecticut for the last 16 years. I think winters on the West Coast would be better. Gayle ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
