Hi Marilyn,

Now that's what I call interesting, and you never get bored with the same

old same old dishes. I'm bored with my set; it was cheap, and I'd like a

change, lol.

depending upon what I am making. I use the plastic coated paper plated for

things that are dry, like Quorn ch'ckn nuggets, French fries. etc. and the real

deal plates for stuff like skeddies. :o)

That was Donna on the neat dishes, Barb. I am thinking of doing something

like that for myself, too. It is just me here, but if I set up dishes, I am

afraid the cats would have my food all gone!!! giggle!!

I used to do that a few years ago. Unfortunately the arthritis in my hands

is getting bad so sometimes I do use Styrofoam plates. I know that they're

not good for the environment, but I know that if I drop a plate and break it

and have to try to clean it up, I'm going to make things worse for myself.

Next dishes will be Corelle - a friend of mine got some for her first

wedding 25 years ago and they just won't break!

Over the years I have broken many Corelle dishes. These days my arthrititic

hands either use Styrofoam (I know, my seriously bad) or microwave safe plastic.

Not sure which is worse but there are days I simply cannot hold our " real "

plates.

They just won't quit. I finially gave them away to someone who likes ugly

china.

I know exactly how you feel. Isn't that awful when you just become so

darned clumsy and can't hold onto things? It drives me crazy. After my ex

moved out when my son and I finally got this place, I wanted to have nice

dishes and glasses, that's not working out so well for me. Seems like my

hands are getting worse and worse as time goes by.. :-(

We have Lenox China Blue Pinstripe. We've only

broken a few but fortunately we bought an 8 serving

set but with two extra of everything so I think

we're still okay. We've had them about 20 years

or so. We also have a very old China set my wife

got from her grandmother but we only use that about

once or twice a year and so far I haven't broken

any of that. Lucky me. We have a few extra small

and large size bowls bought from small shops here

and there which we use with some frequency. However

I do not believe that we have any corelle.

I do have a favorite mug which has a farm scene with

a cow and a favorite glass which is blue and has a

moose head and a spiral on it. I do believe I used

to have a Captain Crunch bowl but I don't have a clue

if I still have it in a box somewhere or where that

box might be. Hm, I even remember having an old cowboy

boot drinking cup (plastic cowboy boot). That's probably

disappeared someplace too. I'm trying to remember

whether or not that was a Howdy Doody cowboy boot cup.

Might have been.

So I guess I don't exactly have a favorite set of

dishes, just the ones we normally eat on. Now if

I inherit my mother's Parkinsons disease I guess

I will have to get some lighter and more

indestructible dishes. Fortunately, no signs of

that yet.

Yipe, may you never show signs of it, Gary. Indeed that could have been a

Howdy Doody cowboy boot!!! Interesting, and very old!!
