The only thing I came up with is to freeze the grapes and then run warm water over them. Supposedly, the skin will " slip right off. " Will it? That remains to be seen. And....will they taste the same? Other than that, I couldn't find anything except using a knife. The only thing I know about peeled grapes is that they can be used as eyeballs for that Halloween game. Ewwww! Guest guest
Hi, this is a silly Question Does anyone know how to take the skin off of a grape without using a knife? One of my patients(86) cant hold anything in her hand and hates to eat the skin of a grape, she used to peel them but now is at a loss ( me too) as to how she can have her favourite snack......grapes. I told her I would ask on this group so please let me know if you have any ideas Thank you all JJ
Guest guest
Dear JJ, Maybe try putting them in hot water for a bit? I'm just guessing, as I only eat organic grapes, and there not terribly abundant. Let me know if it works Cheers, Barb ---- janet 9/16/2007 11:52:52 AM Grape question Hi, this is a silly Question Does anyone know how to take the skin off of a grape without using a knife? Guest guest
I think the peal just slips off of them if you freeze them, but that might ruin her favorite snack. Grapes are my very favorite thing to eat, morning, noon and night. Guest guest
When I skin tomatoes, I boil them for about about a minute, scoop them out into an ice water bath for another 30-60 seconds... the skin peels right off with very little effort. If you try this with grapes, let me know how it works. I am imagining all sorts of things to do now with skin-less grapes... (grape pie, sauce, and smoothies come to mind right now).
