Guest guest
We went to the white Corelle dishes, cups, saucers, cereal and serving bowls with the ripple edge, a few years back........... I love how lightweight they are, match any tablescape, fits easily into the dishwasher and the fact that you can stack a lot of dishes in less space than traditional plates. I've had the company replace a couple of cups and dishes that have broke. We have Brick floors in out kitchen...... They have good customer service. My mom has the strawberry pattern, that she bought back in the 70's when they first came out. For many years, Corelle had a lifetime replacement on their dishes. I see it is now only 3 years. Too bad, but then again, they are so unlikely to break. I will only have corelle dishes. They are the best!!!! Judy
Guest guest
That is exactly what happened to us today. One of my corelle bowls got knocked off the table and as we were cleaning up the broken glass, everyone kitty that was inside and the dog, decided to run under the kitchen table and we were worried they would get the glass in their paws. I have real brick floors in my kitchen and anything glass doesn't stand much of a chance of not breaking if it hits the floor. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Corelle dishes and how light they are. I use on dish to put my food in and cover it with another dish to reheat it in the microwave. It works out perfect. The saucers for a lid to cover the cereal/salad bowls and a salad plate to cover the larger serving size bowls. I love how thin it is, yet very durable. I can fit lots of plates, saucers and bowls stacked on the shelves. I love how they resist marking from silverware, that stoneware is famous for. My mom still has dishes that she bought when I was a child. They were the ones with pretty strawberries on them. I sure wish they still made that pattern. It was a favorite of mine and my mom's. Now I have their white dishes with a rippled edge. They match any seasonal table decorations I decorate with. Corelle Dishes have a three year limited replacement warranty for breaks and chips. http://www.corelle.com/index.asp?pageId=7 I've had no problem with them replacing the few things that I've broken. They send it right out. http://www.corelle.com/index.asp?pageId=30 - Care and use instructions for Corelle dishes. I was just browzing the website at the patterns available now. They all of a sudden have a lot of really pretty patterns available. Have a look! These dishes really deserve to have pretty selections available for all of us that love these dishes. Judy Ugh! The thing I love (sarcasm) is how whenever I break any glass in the kitchen, all 3 cats and the dog come RUNNING to see what's going on -- and to step in it. Ugh... Guest guest
Hi Judy, You might do searches on eBay once in a while and you might be able to find some of the strawberry pattern Corelle dishes you and your mom like so much. You might not realize it but Corning, the inventor of Pyrex, Corning Ware and Corelle dishes, no longer is the manufacturer of Corelle. In 1996, Corning sold their whole housewares division to a conglomerate called World Kitchen's, Inc. and Corning Ware and Corelle are now being made overseas. They do seem to have some very pretty new patterns out in the last couple of years. I still have most of the Corelle that I bought around 1975 that have a pattern of spring flowers and a green rim ring.....AND, it still looks great. Good luck on finding more in the old strawberry pattern dishes. Nancy C.
