Guest guest
No, I haven't heard that, but for years I've heard that antibacterial products are bad because they are creating a breed of super bacteria. I don't use them. I use plain ole soap. In fact, usually the soap I made a couple years ago when I was making soap like crazy. I have enough to last a loooong time. :-) (This was back when lye was easier to get. Now it's much harder because it's used to make crystal meth.) Guest guest
I do use antibacterial soap, but that's because I'm allergic to all antibiotics except for the Z-pack stuff. I keep Purell around too for when my granddaughter is sick. After cleaning her up, I'll wash with the antibacterial soap and then use a dose of the Purell to finish off. When I get sick, it doesn't go away quickly, so I try to not be sick! _____ On Behalf Of Beth Renzetti Friday, September 21, 2007 2:57 PM Re: antibaterial soap and dishsoap imho, seems everything causes cancer so why not? Guest guest
My doctor told me that people who use anti-bacterial hand soap are likely to have less bacteria on their hands, but it is not because of the soap, it is because they are more conscious of the possibility or spread disease and spend more time washing and are more careful of the grime under their nails and such. Also, people who use anti-bacterial soup are actually using soap, where so many people just rinse their hands with water and say that is good enough. Guest guest
I can't even find liquid soap that isn't antibacterial. I have tried, but with no luck. Guest guest
The Ivory Liquid Hand soap doesn't have the anti-bacterial stuff in it. That is what I buy. You can buy the big jugs of it to refill your dispensors by your sinks. Guest guest
Hi, Plain old soap is the best; antibacterial crap, causes the bacteria to mutate a get used to it, and that is one of the reasons that so many antibiotics are becoming useless. Another reason is people are not finishing their antibiotics, and that gives the bacterium more strength, resulting in the need for newer, stronger antibiotics. If you live in too sterile an environment, you immune system weakens, and you become more suseptible to bacterial infections. Health food stores have organic liquid and non-liquid detergents. Guest guest
Hi Penny, Have you tried upping your vitamin intake, and finding herbs that will help your immune system. Kefir and yogurt helps. Garlic is a good anti-bacterial. There are more, but if you do a Google search for natural antibiotics, I'm sure you'll get some answers. There is only one antibiotic I can take, but I use plain soap and wash my hands heap. I think my use of antibacterial stuff in the past weakened my immune system. Hope this gives you some ideas.
