Guest guest
How well I agree with you, Barb. The first sniffle, sneeze, or cough and they rush the children to the emergency room, they are given antibiotics and they can no longer fight off anything. This has been my rant ever since the stuff started on the shelves. Nobody listens to me. Hugs, Chanda - Barbara Saturday, September 22, 2007 12:45 AM Re: antibaterial soap and dishsoap Hi, Plain old soap is the best; antibacterial crap, causes the bacteria to mutate a get used to it, and that is one of the reasons that so many antibiotics are becoming useless. Another reason is people are not finishing their antibiotics, and that gives the bacterium more strength, resulting in the need for newer, stronger antibiotics. If you live in too sterile an environment, you immune system weakens, and you become more suseptible to bacterial infections. Health food stores have organic liquid and non-liquid detergents. Cheers, Barb ---- Katie M 09/22/07 09:13:04 Re: antibaterial soap and dishsoap My doctor told me that people who use anti-bacterial hand soap are likely to have less bacteria on their hands, but it is not because of the soap, it is because they are more conscious of the possibility or spread disease and spend more time washing and are more careful of the grime under their nails and such. Also, people who use anti-bacterial soup are actually using soap where so many people just rinse their hands with water and say that is good enough. Katie Sharon Zakhour <sharon.zakhour wrote: No, I haven't heard that, but for years I've heard that antibacterial products are bad because they are creating a breed of super bacteria. I don't use them. I use plain ole soap. In fact, usually the soap I made a couple years ago when I was making soap like crazy. I have enough to last a loooong time. :-) (This was back when lye was easier to get. Now it's much harder because it's used to make crystal meth.) Guest guest
Thanks Everyone, I'll keep yapping, lol. It's true that children get antibiotics for colds, even DownUnder. My stepdaughter who's soon to turn ten, always has thrush cause she's always getting antibiotics. I guess she'll have to learn the hard way as she won't take her vitamins, or yogurt or probiotics; hopefully she will smarten up by the time she reaches puberty; she's very stubborn, lol. Guest guest
The children of the US are so overly medicated that their bodies have no chance in fighting things off naturally. It is a crime. And doctors make their money on unneeded visits. Guest guest
This is why we are in so much debt in our country. Most of them are welfare recipients and the costs come out of our taxes. Guest guest
Marilyn, Some people in many parts of the western world feed their children poorly, allow them to watch TV all day, then take the obese lumps along to a doctor to " fix " Parents could take on some responsibility themselves instead of just blaming others. Guest guest
It used to be like that in the US, but now the docs have cracked down on the antibiotics. They don't give them as easily anymore. Also, with most HMO's, docs get paid a per year rate (usually crappy) per patient, no matter how many times they come in. hugs, Chanda - Marilyn Daub Saturday, September 22, 2007 10:50 AM Re: OFF TOPIC!!! antibaterial soap and dishsoap The children of the US are so overly medicated that their bodies have no chance in fighting things off naturally. Guest guest
antibiotics only work on bacteria and not viruses. Usually, the sicknesses are viruses anyway. Guest guest
Marilyn I think things like the war in Iraq are costing a lot more than a few doctor visits. Guest guest
When my kids were probably 10 and 8 the pediatricians office commented on how small there files were. I hardly ever called or brought the kids in. Kids get colds and coughs they have to run there course. If a child has a temp under 101 they shouldn't take anything as there body is fighting off infection.
