I take calcium with nothing in it. I also take a multi vitamin which has all the magnesium and zinc in it. My mothers doctor put her on flax seed oil for her cholesterol which was high. This is a traditional doctor. I take one garlic tablet a day, and one cayenne capsule a day. In the last month I have been taken off of one of my blood pressure pills. A major milestone for me. I do not take folic acid or super-b. All b vitamins are water soluable and will not build up in the body. >
Guest guest
Greetings Janet and all - As with all supplements - you should first determine if what you are taking works - by this I mean are these multivitamins/ supplements getting into your system as designed. Before I take any supplement or vitamin I always test it - with a very simple " water " test - As I have found in my experience, not all vitamins and supplements are created equal. Take any small bowl or cup - I use a small custard bowl - and fill it with room temperature water and place your vitamin (or supplement) into the bowl of water and let it stand, now see how long it takes to dissolve. This will tell you if and how long it will take to get " into " your system - you will be surprised as I always have been - as some do NOT didsolve at all - which basically means they do our bodies system no good at all - and simply just pass through you. My personal rule of thumb - is that it should dissolve completely in the water within 4-8 hours to be effective - again this is only my experience - but, I have had some vitamins (gel caps) not dissolve at all after 24 hours of soaking - which means it pretty much passes right through you and you're body does not get the benefit of whatever it is you are trying to add. This simple little test will save you much time and energy, if you first see if what it is that you want to take will actually get " into " your system. Much luck and blessings to all - namaste' doc , " janet " <wantal4ever wrote: > > I have recieved a gift of Vitamins but my friend said that she has no idea > about vitamins ( she never takes them) > I know the dosage on the bottles but some people said that it is just a guideline..I would love to hear what you take and in what doseage. Guest guest
Besides what Mendo says, you should find out what YOU need. Everyone has different requirements. Some need more of one thing and less of another. A good way to go would be someone who is an expert at muscle testing. Guest guest
Hi Janet, I would up my magnesium to 500 or 600 mg, and also take 400 mg of vite D as it helps the calcium and magnesium work. Are you taking vitamin C and E as well. I take 500 mg of Ester C (easy on the tummy) and 400 IU of Vite E. Hope that helps. Cheers, Barb ---- janet 10/1/2007 4:11:02 AM OFF TOPIC ....Vitamins etc I have recieved a gift of Vitamins but my friend said that she has no idea about vitamins ( she never takes them) I know the dosage on the bottles but some people said that it is just a guideline..I would love to hear what you take and in what doseage.
