Yes a healthy childhood favorite............ Isn't it good. Sometimes I send

my hubby out the door to work, with two long stalks of celery done like this.

He loves it too. Nice yummy treat at any time of the day...... We've filled

the channels on the celery with cream cheese mixed with some fresh dill week and

used the cashews, golden raisen, craisens and diced dates to press into the

cream cheese mixture. Sometimes I sprinkle seasame seeds and poppy seed over

the cream cheese stuffed in the celery channel. Nice variations on this and

pretty enough for finger food at parties.

Thank you Roxy. It was so good. We had these sandwiches for dinner tonight. It

was a

quick filling meal. I had a big glass of buttermilk too and some celery

sticks on the side. I filled the celery channel with peanut butter and

raisens pressed on top of the peanut butter.

Ants on a log was always a favorite in my class. I loved to cook with them.

We would read a story, do an art project and then cook/bake something. The

Gingerbread Man was also a favorite. Oh, yeah, and Worms and Dirt.

Although some of the kids refused to touch that one. And making pretzels.

That was a gas! Every once in a while I think.....Gee, I think I will go

back in the classroom. Then I saw to myself....Self.....are you insane?

How did you make the Pretzels and Gingerbread Man? I'd love to do things like

that. Holidays are so fun aren't they. It's funny how many kids loved that

worms and dirt dessert thing. It is still popular at children's birthday

parties. Pudding, with chocolate cookies crushed and crumbled on top and those

edible clear colored gel worms hanging half in and our of the pudding cups.

Funny the things folks come up with isn't it. Chuckling here.

I didn't know you were a school teacher, Sue. What grade and class did you

teach?

Oh, yeah....I taught Kindergarten for 10 years. Then I opened a day

care/nursery school in Florida. That lasted for 20 more years.

It was another 5 years before I would let an ankle biter come near me.

LOLThen I got lonesome for them. I went back and taught for the YMCA

preschool. I had 2 year olds, 3 year olds and 4 years olds.

I also did a stretch with the after school Y with 5 graders. EEEEK!

Then I retired.
