Guest guest
Roxy pick smooth green chayotes. It will have a little tough core in the center when you slice it in half lengthwise. It is good grated raw on salads also. I love the grated chayote and potato patty in the files. I make chayote sweet bread with them. I find giant large ones for 50 cents each at the Latin market.
