Guest guest
-Patricia, I sure agree with you about onions and garlic. I eat fresh garlic and onions almost every day some way or the other. I love pickled garlic and often have a piece for a snack. But my favorite way to fix garlic is to oven roast or sautee in olive oil and then spread on a slice of bread. And what about pesto on crackers or bread..Yum. buy organic herbs in bulk and then store them in pint canning jars. Some I buy fresh and what I don't use fresh I air dry and store for later use. I also have jars of tea spices and herbs. I suspect that even my clothes must have the lovely aroma of garlic. LOL.. Deanna > > I could not live without garlic and basil. Guest guest
PATRICIA - I never realised until reading your post that I also have a spice addiction hahaha:-) I have a stacked set of drawers (5 or 6) on my pantry porch - each drawer is crammed full of different spices. I also have a cupboard in my kitchen full of them (next to the stove with the most used spices in it). I also LOVE fresh herbs and someday hope to have an herb garden when time allows. I think I am going to really enjoy this group :-) Kimberly rmireles34 <rmireles34 wrote: I could not live without garlic and basil. Spices are another addiction - along with the cookbooks. I think I am going to really enjoy this group :-) Kimberly, sweetie - herbs won't take much time at all! Pot them up and put 'em on your porch. In the mornings, check the moistness of the soil; if they need some give it to 'em if not don't. Most of them are very low-maintenance! :-)
Guest guest
Kimberly(also my daughter's name), So easy to have herbs growing on your window sill. I dreamed all summer of my mountain garden so decided to plant some basil among my potted cherry tomato plants on my balcony. Tomato and basil are companion plants and they loved each other. I had both for months. Also planted next to them but seperate pots midget green peppers. Very good. Not like my big garden but still fresh veggies. - -- In , " Amy " <sandpiperhiker> wrote: > > > I also LOVE fresh herbs and someday hope to have an herb garden when > > time allows.
