Guest guest
My dad went to an auction Sunday an bought me a box of cookbooks for $2!!! There are about 15 cookbooks, 30+ booklets and a bunch of loose & handwritten recipes (some in french!) Its going to take me a long time to go through them all but I already found a few things I want to try! I love getting cookbooks! Guest guest
He frequently buys box lots for $1 and I have gotten a bunch of new and vintage kitchen stuff. He lets me look through the stuff he doesn't want There is always lots of stuff at the auction/fleamarket, I have even gotten a gold bracelet there for $1 Its the best place to find treasures! Guest guest
Right now, I own about 500 cookbooks, about half vegetarian/vegan, but I gave away a couple of hundred when I moved last year, and when I moved a few years before that. Had I kept them all, I'm sure I'd at or near 1000 cookbooks. My sisters have 2 or 3 cookbooks each and think I'm crazy. They don't consider my cookbooks a collection, or even useful, and keep asking me if I actually use all those cookbooks. I keep telling them that I do use them all, though I don't necessarily cook from them all. They are such fun to read, and so inspirational! I often will research recipes by comparing a number of similar recipes, and then will take parts of each to make my own recipe. I often read them at bedtime like other people read novels. Guest guest
the reference is on cook books: Does anyone else suffer from the same disease? * * * will a simple YES be all right, i have over 800 right now. i keep getting them and reading them, i use mine as well, i know that others can't understand why cook books at times. but then many people have their own stash of this or that. it's just something each one of us has to deal with. a friend of mine has recently sold many of my cook books online. i just give her some number off the book and then drop ship when the books sell. it's a good arrangement for the both of us. take care, read what you like . . . qupla' houston ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
