Guest guest
I have shelves of cookbooks too. Probaby 500 or somewhere in that range. Some I just read others I cook from. My sister will find a recipe in the group files or from a magazine and try it, she owns only a few cookbooks, maybe 5. Right now, I own about 500 cookbooks, about half vegetarian/vegan, but I gave away a couple of hundred when I moved last year, and when I moved a few years before that. Had I kept them all, I'm sure I'd at or near 1000 cookbooks. My sisters have 2 or 3 cookbooks each and think I'm crazy. They don't consider my cookbooks a collection, or even useful, and keep asking me if I actually use all those cookbooks. I keep telling them that I do use them all, though I don't necessarily cook from them all. They are such fun to read, and so inspirational! I often will research recipes by comparing a number of similar recipes, and then will take parts of each to make my own recipe. I often read them at bedtime like other people read novels. Guest guest
I read cookbooks in bed every night! My husband thinks it's strange. But his taste buds aren't complaining. All the food on my blog has come from this process:-) I do much the same. Find several recipies for the same thing then come up with my own. But I can't get near you on the # of cookbooks. I only have about 20. I normally borrow them from the ibrary. Then if I adore it I go out and buy it. On 10/9/07, thelilacflower <thelilacflower wrote: > > I have shelves of cookbooks too. Guest guest
I guess that I have close on 100, some of which I've had since I first became vegetarian and altogether too many that I've bought since joining this group - you really are such a bad influence on me, LOL. I like to sit and read them on the bus on my way to work. Christie
