Guest guest
Ok Gang, I have totally been inspired by the spice blend folder in the files. I am always looking for easy/inexpensive/original gifts. During my thrift store journeys, I find myself picking up old spice racks and bottles just because I like them. I have finally found a very good use for these! I have decided to make several of the spice blends in bulk, place them in the old spice bottles, label and put them in recycled baskets for gifts. Maybe a tea towel or 2? How about a set of measuring spoons and measuring cups? Since the gifts for my sisters are not permitted to be new, I will pick up used measuring spoons/cups at the thrift stores and include a couple vintage tea towels. I cant wait to get started on this! I really think my Christmas woas have been fixed! Thanks everyone! Roxie, Philly PA
Guest guest
Roxy, I do the same with thrift store bottles. I also dry herbs and give them as gifts along with canned peppers and salsa. Spiced tea and herbal tea blends also make nice gifts. I received one last Christmas that was an " instant Home made tea " blend. 'Instant' home made soups are also great gifts. Guest guest
I've done the same making instant cocoa mixes (add cinnamon, peppermint, etc), coffee mixes and teas. A go-with could be muffin mixes where all they have to add is water. You can get powdered eggs or egg subsititure and dry milk, then increase the amount of water needed. Or cookie mix where they add their own milk/eggs and attach a new cookie cutter.
