Guest guest
Are there any other experienced clay pot cookers in here? I have 4 Romertopf German cookers in various sizes and use them all the time during the cooler weather. Guest guest
I have a few of them, Donna. They give great tastes to the foods. I have a meatloaf pan that I use on vegetarian loaves that make really good dishes. I have a pizza/cookie sheet that is super, too. I want some more of them. I want the 8 or 9 inch square for cakes for church. Guest guest
My Grandmother used to cook in one and it made it's own gravy and juices. I always remember the roasted potatoes from the clay pot. I think they are German or something. Brad , " wwjd " <jtwigg wrote: > > Please share how you use them Donna. Guest guest
Donna, I love clay cooking! Catalan (and maybe Spanish) cooking is in clay pots, cassolas or cazuelas. I went back to Spain for a visit a few years back and brough a few, and got addicted to cooking in them. I have a dutch oven type clay pot that fits 1 Lb of beans with broth perfectly. It has thick walls and a nice cover and I use it every time I make a batch of beans. I make flans in clay pans (shallow round). These can be found here (Long beach and Culver city) and they are cheap, but the ones in Spain have thicker walls. Guest guest
I also meant to say, Chinese cooking has a lot of clay pot recipes. Unfortunately it is rare to find vegetarian ones. I see them at the asian grocery stores, and I am getting one next time I venture over there. They are made of a very light colored clay, and they are reinforced with some metal on the outside. They are pretty inexpensive (maybe $7 for one that would serve 2) Any Asian vegetarian clay pot recipes anyone? come on don't be shy... , " cabrita_trl " <roseta_lleo wrote: > > Donna, I love clay cooking!
