Guest guest
we've tried serv-a-gravy, but we LOVE hain vegetarian gravy. just add water - follow the instructions, which are simple, but i can tell you, should be followed to the letter - and you'll have a non-fat, low-cal gravy that's better than you remember the OTHER stuff being. honest. i like the brown fine, my family not so much, the " vegetarian chicken flavored gravy mix fat free all natural " - holy schmeegers it's G-R-R-R-R-R-REAT!!! honest, oh, yeah, you can increase the 1 cup cold water to 1 and 1/4. some mashed potatoes, a couple of Boca Chik Patties each, and a couplf of packets of this stuff and it's comfort food on a chilly night! YUM! ron, in charlotte
Guest guest
I used the Morningstar farm stuff which is less greased. It have low in fat stuff which I enjoy. , " Ron Everhart " <ron.everhart wrote: > > we've tried serv-a-gravy, but we LOVE hain vegetarian gravy. just add > water - follow the instructions, which are simple, but i can tell you, > should be followed to the letter - and you'll have a non-fat, low-cal > gravy that's better than you remember the OTHER stuff being. honest. i > like the brown fine, my family not so much, the " vegetarian chicken > flavored gravy mix fat free all natural " - holy schmeegers it's > G-R-R-R-R-R-REAT!!! > > honest, oh, yeah, you can increase the 1 cup cold water to 1 and 1/4. > some mashed potatoes, a couple of Boca Chik Patties each, and a couplf > of packets of this stuff and it's comfort food on a chilly night! > > YUM! > > ron, in charlotte >
Guest guest
You may also like to try bean flour. If you're provident enough to have your own little grain mill you can churn it out fresh, quick, easy and ridiculously cheap from any type of bean, peas, lentils, or in combo with rice and other grains for a complete protein. As you said just add water, about 1 quart to 1 cup of bean flour, 1 tsp to 1 Tb salt and your fav spices. Garlic and onion with mushrooms is a good choice. Also makes a great veggie soup-stock base and pasta sauce that doesn't blow up in the microwave. , " thewrittenword2002 " <jsmith4973 wrote: > > Did you guys know there is a vegetarian gravy now. Guest guest
" I used the Morningstar farm stuff which is less greased. It have low in fat stuff which I enjoy. " mmm...not to be contentious, but how you get " less greased " than " safflower oil as an antyi-caking agent that adds a negligible amount of fat? " i mean, there's never been ANYTHING " greasy " about this stuff, which i've used hundreds of times, and which has a nutrition facts rating of " 0 calories from fat. " not that i'm taking the implication that i serve my family " greasy " food personally, you understand, he said through clenched teeth and a camera-ready smile. ron

Guest guest
Thanks. We only have four places to get food, Safeway, FreyMeyer, Walmart and Natural Pantry. Walmart is just getting food items into their stores and has a very very limited selections. Neither Safeway or Freddies has it, so I will have to plan a trip to natural pantry. It is clear on the other side of town, and outrageously expensive, but I will go. Guest guest
I would just ask the grocery buyer to order it for you. If they do business with Celestial Seasonings, then they are doing business with Hain and they shouldn't mind since it is the same distributor. Guest guest
This gravy is tasty over vegetables, potatoes, vegetarian " chicken " nuggets(the morning star farm ones) and biscuits, I am going to make a shepherds pie this weekend and use this gravy for a sauce for the vegetables. Vegetarian Gravy ½ cup nutritional yeast ¼ cup all purpose flour Pepper to taste (we like a lot) 2 cups milk 1 T (or more to taste) Soy Sauce Mix dry ingredients then add milk slowly & stir to eliminate lumps. Add soy sauce and heat to desired thickness. Version: 7.5.503 / Virus Database: 269.15.10/1091 - Release 10/24/2007 2:31 PM
