I have both of the 1001 vegetarian cookbooks the low fat and regular recipes.

They are wonderful cookbooks. I posted a loaf recipe in the files from one. I

can't remember which one now.

" 1001 Low-Fat Vegetarian Recipes " has my vote too. I have dozens of post-it

notes poking

out of that book. LOVE! The mac & cheese recipe. I served the Mushroom

Stroganoff to my

meat-eating bf on our 4th date and he married me (maybe not *only* for my

stroganoff

*lol*)

I've said this before, I'll say it again: " The Moosewood Restaurant Cooks at

Home " . This

book gets me through pot-luck season! I recommend the Greek Pasta Salad, Soba

Noodle

Salad, Curried Corn & Peppers, and a whole bunch of the stews (sorry, I'm doing

this from

memory).

Happy cooking!

Cheers!

My favorite is probably " 1,001 Low-Fat Vegetarian Recipies " by Sue Spitler.

Well, that's a relief! I thought I was the only vegetarian on the planet who

didn't like

the Uncheese cookbooks. I don't feel so guilty anymore :D

I took the Vegetarian Epicure out of the library once, only to return it because

I found

the recipes were too fatty (I was trying to lose 20lbs at the time). I think

I'll go take

another look at it though.

Cheers!

What one person likes another doesn't. I love the Tassajara original, revied

and the

bread books. The Vegetarian Epicure book 1 and 2 but for some reason the

Moosewoods

aren't for me. I don't like the 2 Uncheese cookbooks either, I have tried

several recipes

only to toss them. One eggplant recipe was edible but nothing I'd make again

and yet

many people love those 2 cookbooks.

That's why it's nice of members want to trade cookbooks. You could end up

receiving a

treasure.
