I swear I thought I was the only person on earth that

didn't treasure these books. LOL

I only like The Enchanted Broccoli Forest by Mollie Katzen. I have all the

Moosewood cookbooks and for some reason they just don't appeal to me. I know

this is rare, most vegetarians rave about them.

Re: New York Members?

I live in Western NY - and there is no restaurant around here worth eating

in. There is a great veggie restaurant in Ithaca, NY, which is in the

Finger Lakes area. It's a great restaurant and I've been there only once

for lunch, as it's a 3 hour drive for me to get there. The person who

started the restaurant - Molly Katzen - has several Moosewood cookbooks out,

of which I have several and highly recommend.

I have cookbooks up the ying yang however, my DH is a

very picky eater. He only likes broccoli and peas for

veggies, and salad. I tend to make all my food from

experience rather then from a book. I find way too

many steps and too many things in the recipes that I

don't ordinarily have on hand.

I love the cook books, was introduced to the restaurant and Molly Katzen's

books by a friend from New Jersey some 30 years ago; took some time to

arrive here in Australia - but I still use them all the time; those and the

cook book from Krank's in London (one of my favourite vegerarian restaurants

in the world). Making an Enchanted Broccoli Forest for my kids was a real

treat (for me if not for them (LOL).

I have found the moosewood cookbooks a great starting place for creating veggie

dishes. I rarely have all ingrediants on hand so have to modify them but they

work. Wanda

I'm unimpressed with this series myself. Too many ingredients,

long preparation time and the outcome is nothing to write about.

I have so many other books I use and enjoy much better.

I really enjoy hearing what members have to say about cookbooks, it's

so interesting to see favorites, ones we don't connect with, etc.
