We are a vegetarian group not a vegan group so you will see some recipes

containing dairy and eggs. We do have plenty of vegan recipes posted also

Nice having you with us

One question

I have been enjoying your recipes, but I have been confused, I

recently posted a recipe, and I guess it was not approved because of

the chicken, that is understandable, however, I have seen other

recipes that have cheese in it, why is that? I have known that cheese

is animal product, unless this cheese is made from soy, but unless is

specified on the recipe, this confuses me more, never the less, I love

this group because people are very polite and helpful, and I have

found many recipes I have enjoyed myself, and hopefully will enjoy for

the rest of my life.

By the way, my son and mother enjoyed the elephant ears, I have saved

this recipe for further use.

Thank You

Hi Azul!

That's because vegetarians don't eat chicken or any other food that

would kill the animal. But many vegetarians _do_ eat eggs and dairy -

those are called ovo-lacto vegetarians. (ovo means egg and lacto means

dairy). People who eat no animal products whatsoever (or wear them

either) are called vegans. This is a vegetarian email list, but many of

us do follow a vegan diet. :-)

Thanks for asking. I do think this confuses people so it's good to get

clarification. :-)
