Guest guest
hi peter don't feel so bad my town hasn't got many vegaetarian or vegan restaurants either. we are lucky to have one but it's more like a cafe. yes san fransico were fraggle lives is know for their proggresive open minded mentalities, since the 1960's heck the mayor is a very flamboyant gay person, very liberal. the image i have is of very friendly open people, although I'm sure there are some schlemiels, as in every place, I can imagine who can afford to live there know, as I think it is the most explansive place to live in the US. Guest guest
sorry, the mayor of SF, Newson, isn't gay... you might be thinking of several members of the city supervisors Anouk Sickler <zurumato Oct 29, 2005 9:37 PM Re: Vegan Pizza? Guest guest
Depends on how you rate them, SF sometimes makes the list but not always and never #1 most expensive. Here's one list that it doesn't even make. http://www.soyouwanna.com/site/toptens/expensivecities/expensivecities.html And NYC is always the most expensive. I don't think SF has had a gay mayor for years. Willie Brown certainly wasn't. The current one isn't. SF's my most favorite city in the world. Portland ranks #2. I liked NYC when I was a kid but that was because it was impressive to have them shut down a whole section of town just for our horses <g> I don't like it now! I don't remember the name of the town we stayed at in England but it was beautiful and the people were really nice. The people were real friendly too, at least they were to me and answered a million questions and I did have a million of them <g> Of course, I was five, and I don't think I asked them the questions they were expecting. I wanted to know about history. I also wanted to know how to do the carvings I saw on some walls and how to tat the lace I saw <g> Lynda - > Anouk Sickler <zurumato > Oct 29, 2005 9:37 PM > > Re: Vegan Pizza? Guest guest
SF is expensive tho and, it was number one about 5 years ago, at the height of the dotcom boom..it actually had trounced manhattan... not sure if thats a good honor tho manhattan is usually the most expensive tho but, a case in point..when rents went nutty here(not even gonna talk about median home price) during the dotcom craze, i went from living in a 3 story haus, with a huge backyard, 5 bedroom, 2 bath..for $1000 a month to a tiny itty bitty haus with two tiny bedrooms, and one small bath..for $1380...
