At 11am this morning I made the mistake of turning on the TV. I spent 2 minutes fiddling with the remote control, tapping the top of the TV in a not too gentle manner, looking to check that everything was plugged in OK, and then getting deafened because I'd turned the sound up so high to see if it was still working... only when they started talking again did it strike me what had been going on! Guest guest
Hi fraggle, when I worked at the Opera House, my boss would come in with a little radio and make us do a funky dance right before we started working or sometimes when the phones were down. This was just to get us going. some people hated it and thought they were too cool for that. It was a bit embarrasing.. due to the fact that the tape on the radio was " we are family " from the 1970's. , fraggle <EBbrewpunx@e...> wrote: > > at 11am, we just all jumped up from behind our desks here in my department at work, gave a rousing cheer, and shared beer.... > the war to end all wars > if only it had been so.... > > bacchuswe are weird here tho... > > > > " Just as nightfall does not come at once, neither > does oppression. Guest guest
Hi Anouk Oh my garsh, was her name Kathy? When I worked at one place we had an awesome boss named Kathy. She is still a close family friend to this day. But everytime we would start fighting in the office amongst one another. She would pull out the darn radio and pop in the casette and make us sing and dance to " We Are Family " too! LOL She had great ways of breaking up the tension. Whether between each other or just bad days with customers. One thing I fondly remember is she would at times, just out of the blue, leave a nice card or note on your desk before you walked in. It would just say something sweet along the lines of what a great job you were doing, or highlight something great you did during the week etc. then she would throw in a phrase or poem that fit the situation. What an amazing way to touch your employees and let them know how appreciated they are! I have been lucky to have some great bosses in my time. But she was the best!
