Here is an interesting article I found about cochineal

when I was trying to find the red dye numbers and what

they meant (I'm still looking for those). In addition

to our food, they are used in clothing colors, makeup,

and even pill coloring! Wow! Susan

Aveda is a cosmetic line, the only one I know of, that is safe and vegan. They are on-line. A tad bit expensive but goes a long way. They have shampoos, conditioners, lotions, and I am sure other stuff, but we weren't happy with the shampoos and conditioners, but then I bet you everyone else is. If you google Aveda you can locate a spa or hair salon near you...it is a specialty company and not out on the market in a store. Isn't it disgusting the cochineal is in our foods too. They basically farm raise those poor things and have to slaughter millions of them just to make a small amount of coloring. Sickening.

Thanks, Peter. The more resources the better. I'm

using Nature's Gate Organics right now. I was using

Aveeno but I like this better. I'm in the U.S.

Washington State. I'll check out your link as well as

Linda's. Susan
