Reminds me of my ex-husband who hated, absolutely hated, onions and had a fit if he thought they were anywhere around. His mother got him though. She made an onion bread, didn't tell him what it was, just a bread, and he devoured it and wanted her to bake more of it. He was kind of embarrassed when she told him what it was made from...turned into one of those stories that the family passed down much to his dismay.

Who decides what to cook? If you cook, maybe you could convert him to at least a few days each week vegetarian by cooking him some veggie meals he just can't resist. There are also meat substitutes you could use so he doesn't even know. A while back we "tricked" a meat eater friend into eating vegan cheese, we grated it and put it on his baked potato, and he went back for second helpngs and did not know it was vegan cheese!

Hi Linda,

Was your hubby Italian?

I love when I sneak foods into things and no one knows. Like Zak

with brocolli!

But that onion bread sure does sound yummy! You wouldn't happen to

have her old recipe would you? Pleeeasssee.....

He was Norwegian. LOL Sorry but I don't have her recipe. She died a number of years ago otherwise she would share it. She was a wonderful, very sweet lady and I miss her a lot. She could really cook too, but somehow the family lost her recipe file and that made me very sad as she had some really unusual dishes. Even though she died, the family keeps passing the story on about the onion bread much to the ex-hubby's dismay.

Ugh, those sound like definately some recipes well worth remembering.

I have my Gramma's old recipe file and I treasure it dearly. Even tho

I cannot make half the items in there any longer. :)
