dear peter,

when do you have the time to check out all of this music?

I am a mom, work part time and go to shhool, and wish that

I had the time (when I was younger) to listen to more music.

I admire you for staying true to your inner teenager :)

plus, the radio in my town sucks.

that being said the good news is that I have found a good online

radio station which I am listening to and exposes me to new good music

in my genre. (which is alternative/ska/a little punk/new wave/folk.)

i leave this station on while I do chores! it is on right now!

I will check out the bands which you pointed to below. the one thing

I would hate is for me to be someone who is stuck in the music of

their youth.

I have a friend who says " nothing decent was made after 1995 "

from the ones you mention green day, and gorillaz, super furry are the

ones I have heard of.

Hi Anouk, I have 2 hours a day ( traveling to and from work ) where I usually listen to music. I usually rent cd`s from my local library and listen to them on the train, plus there is an excellent radio show on radio one - Mike Davies - that I listen to every Tuesday night : http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/alt/thelockup/ Which normally has a listen again facility, so if I miss it I can hear it anytime/download it., Also Zane Lowe has a good radio show. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/alt/zanelowe/ I normally have the radio on wherever I am, so zone in and out to whatever tickles my fancy.... Don`t ever listen to people who say nothing good was made after such and such a date, theres a million bands out there, so the laws of average must say you will find one or two that you like? Does anyone here think that vegans have similar tastes in music? I don't, but I

could be

wrong!

I don't think so. I don't think there would be any reason for that to be

the case. I am not keen on lyrics about human/animal rights etc.

Hi Peter

You are right - I do - and some like Les Danse Morsant (?sp). What I meant

was I like the songs for their sound, whatever their words and don't just

like songs with a political message.

No, I think that some may and others do not. That would be classifying

Vegans as all like-minded people which we are not.

Kinda like saying all bus drivers only eat italian food. Or all

Mothers believe in reading Dr. Spock. etc etc etc

Hi Nikki

It is good taste indeed - and one that Peter's band used to perform.

I don't think there's a version of it anywhere... unless it was on the video

of that practice - I assume Jo still has that around somewhere?

There is another version I recorded on my own which I think is quite

entertaining, and rather different! :-)

Hi Nikki

Unfortunately Peter isn't in a band at present - but I could check with

Peter to see if we have any recordings of it.

Hi Peter/Nikki

I do still have the video (I have all the videos you've ever given me of

plays, singing, band practice etc.) I'll try to find it and see what is on

it. Your other version would be the a capella version, which is most

enjoyable.

hi peter,

here in the us, we call them Dead can Dance,

same band right?

anyway, I was introduced to them in 1994, by a college roomate,

and have been listening to them on and off.

I do like them.

I'm sure Peter will answer as well. The band is called Magnum, Les

Morts Dansant is one of their songs. They are a British band, who

started in the 70s, and may not be known in America.

I am a big Dead Can Dance fan. If you like Dead Can Dance, you may like Enigma

too.

Les Morts Dansant is a song by Magnum - but an understandable

misunderstanding :-)
