I'm 18 and am just looking for other vegans to talk to. I'm kind of bothered by vegetarians who do it for the animals, it doesn't make sense to me, but i'll talk to anybody, i don't really care. =P I like body art. Music. Guest guest Posted January 5, 2006 Report Share Posted January 5, 2006 Hi Serena! What a beautiful name and welcome to this very, very chatty group. We talk about all sorts of things. I'm Jonnie, mother of 3, grandmother of twins in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. I went veggie last summer due to health problems. After finding this group, it was much easier and the thought of meat products actually discusts me. They also have helped me a lot with being more creative about what I eat. I especially love the conversations of what we ate that day or meal or whatever, since I get a lot of ideas from that. My family are still flesh eaters, but have slowly been coming around. Here in Phoenix, it's really hard to find veggie places and really rare to find vegan (I only know of one and I haven't eaten there yet), but I know people are coming from all over and I'm starting to run into veggies a lot more often. We eat most of our meals out and I have actually had a couple of veggie servers (although sadly I just found out one of my favs is going back to Chicago, boo hoo!). Again, welcome to the group! I am Herbvalerian, aka Herb, I am a Tyke, meaning a person from the wondrous county of Yorkshire, however I now reside in Geordieland, aka Tyne and Wear, another county in Northern England. I have been veggie for 25 years or so, vegan for about 4. There are lots of places to get vegan food here but not many vegan places to eat out. I like to cook, and as for music as I have said recently I like Durutti Column, Dead Can Dance and Enigma.
