so..as i sit bored scrolling craigslist for a new job (its inventory time at our

warehouse in indiana, so we have nuthin to do here all week)(and methinks it be

just time i got off my duff and began lookin for a more..fulfilling..job)..i got

to mind wanderings

its a new year...

well..sorta...by some calendars anyways...

and..every year the tabloids, sports commentators, psychics, etc roll out there

predictions for the new year..

sooo

wot do you think?

wot are yer all predictions for this year of 2006?

for yerselves?

fer the world?

1000 miles of endless screams, where all the dead heroes lay

I've got the choice to set my knife, I've got the courage to set my life

I've got the day I'll pick to die. Gotta hate someone, I don't know why

I'll fight for a better way, be a dead hero for the U.S.A.

Hi Fraggle

What a fine question...

> for yerselves?

Well, don't really know - planning to start a PhD in September, but other

than that anything could happen!

> fer the world?

I reckon it's about time America and Britain ganged up on Iran - they've

been threatening it for a while, and they've got to get going on it soon,

otherwise they'll be behind schedule and won't get round to Syria until

2008, which would definitely not be in line with their plans!

Britain will probably finally turn the corner into being an official police

state... Big Ben might get burned down, and the LibDems get the blame,

causing Blair to finally announce that democracy was a bad idea all along,

and he's now not going to have any more elections... OK, maybe it's a little

early for this... but it's always a possibility!

Hi Peter/Fraggle

That is really scary, but look quite likely. I reckon we'll end up in a

dictatorship.

On a personal level - I reckon I'll be doing much the same as last year -

exercising a bit more to try to keep pace with entropy (unless I've got the

wrong meaning of the word).

Predictions? oh my god! I have a bad memory.

when I was eight years old, my mom bought a copy of the

national enquirer to read on the bus. she was mostly interested in

princess Diana.

when she was done with it, I took it and read it and it predicted

that the world would end that year.

I was so afraid. I took this paper put it under my bed, looked at

it frequently and became a nervous wreck.

I really believed what I read and could not ascertain that this

was fiction. I told no one of my fear and made plans with my toys and

dolls as though I was going to die. I even wrote letters(which I never

sent).

finally the predicted day of February 24 came and nothing happened.

I was very realived.

That must have been really frightening for you. Obviously it wasn't

meant for children to read.

Hi Anouk

Sort of reminds me of a song by Threshold (now there's a band I bet no-one

except Jo has heard of :-)....

it is easier said than done.

I feel like I don't spend enough time with

my kids now. then there's the financing part.

however, I plan to live a long long time and plan

to keep on learning forever,

my brain is insatiable and there are always

interesting things to learn and do.

I bet you don't. en·tro·py ( P ) Pronunciation Key (ntr-p)n. pl. en·tro·pies Symbol S For a closed thermodynamic system, a quantitative measure of the amount of thermal energy not available to do work. A measure of the disorder or randomness in a closed system. A measure of the loss of information in a transmitted message. The tendency for all matter and energy in the universe to evolve toward a state of inert uniformity. Kinda like in the movies where there's miscommunications and I'm mentally saying, just tell her, you'll straighten it all out so simply.
