Compassionate multivitamins?

Hello,

A meat-eating friend of mine recently chastised me for taking

multivitamins, saying that some of the ingredients are derived from

animals. I'd never thought about this before, so I checked the back (I

take Centrum) and the only ingredient that seemed suspicious was

gelatin (side question: Is all gelatin derivd from animals?). Does

anyone have more info about this?

Thanks,

-Mike

most over the counter vitamins you purchase, the major name brands, are gonna

have animla derived ingredients

yes, gelatin is going to be animal derived, unless it sez " plant source " , and

then its going to be prolly called agar or the like..its also called vegi-cap er

something in gel pill form

there's also things in vitamins like calcium, magnesium sterate, and others are

mostly animal based

there's prolly also lactose...

to name just afew

In the UK calcium and magnesium will not be animal based but mineral.

There are some here that use those items but most of the ones I have

seen are mineral source.
