Guest guest
2 years ago I joined this group and I would a not been a vegetarian if I didn't stay in here. Alot of members told me how to cook. I only knew how to warm a vegi burger up before. I got a used crockpot and I make food in it from the files all the time. I got a loaf pan and I make loafs and eat them in sandwiches. I think you should get a crockpot. Its the favorite thing I use now. Guest guest
Hey Paul, I am glad this group is helping you stay veggie. I have been enjoying being here as well. When I go to work I am gone over 12 hours a day so a crockpot would be nice, instant dinner! but we already have quite a few appliances and the counters are so full. We use the rice cooker several times a week, that is a good one. Of course, there is also a juicer, a food processor, a blender....there is even one thing I have never used (one of them kitchen aid mixers) no idea what to do with it. All the things is supposely does I prefer doing by hand. So maybe I'll get one anyway.... , " paulvatoloco " <paulvatoloco wrote: > > 2 years ago I joined this group and I would a not been a vegetarian if > I didn't stay in here. Guest guest
If you need it to go 12 hours, you might be best served to look for an older pot at thrift stores or Freecycle or wherever. The newer pots have a tendency to run hotter than the older pots and 12 hours is a pretty long time for most of them. Also, run your pot at least 3/4 full or it WILL cook faster. (Sort of had to learn that one the hard way!) I do love getting dinner started at the beginning of busy days and not having to cope when I skid into the end of the day. :-) -ginger just north of Boston , " cabrita_trl " <roseta_lleo wrote: > > Hey Paul, I am glad this group is helping you stay veggie. Guest guest
I use my crockpot about 2 times a week. I bought it about 2 years ago for $3 at the local thrift shop. It's a nice Rival and looks like it was used only a few times. Guest guest
I love my crockpot. I got it as a wedding gift almost 19 (eek) years ago. I use it all year round. Getting ready to crank it up right now for dinner tonight. Guest guest
Thanks for the information Ginger. It sounds like buying one from a department store will not do the trick for me. oh well. , " matildalucet " <matildalucet wrote: > > If you need it to go 12 hours, you might be best served to look for > an older pot at thrift stores or Freecycle or wherever.
