Guest guest
I love Freecycle. Last month a member gave me a garbage size bag filled with skeins of yarn. I asked for my elderly neighbor who makes crochet lap blankets for nursing home residents. I then asked for beads as a friend is a crisis counselor and uses them for therapy with her clients. A very nice lady gave me a huge bag of beads for my friend. We give things away too. It is a great place to recycle and everything is free. Guest guest
I run an organic produce co-op and needed another refrigerator to keep the ladies orders chilled. I got one on Freecycle. That is where I got my crockpot, most of my kitchen gadgets, my dishes and lots of stuff. I give lots of stuff, too. I gave away a freezer to make room for the new refrigerator. Right now I am exspecting someone to come to pick up 10 yards of brand new carpet. Anyone who hasn't looked into freecycle is missing something great. And it is all free! Happy freecycling. Guest guest
I'm also a big fan of freecycle. It feels great to see someone be so happy to use something I no longer have any use for. I also am grateful that we were able to keep 'stuff' out of our landfills. Almost all of my garden supplies came from freecycle. ~Barb
Guest guest
me too, Donna got me onto it. I've gotten some good stuff. Today I pick up a bag of yarn a man is giving me that was his deceased wife's. She died of cancer, and I put out the call for yarn to knit chemo caps. He seems pleased that her yarn will go to that cause and I'm happy to have some yarn to use for it. Almost all of my stash is too itchy. Guest guest
What an awesome idea! That would have been great for a friend of mine. She didn't like the wigs. Thankfully, her hair has all grown back.
Guest guest
I am actually co-owner of my local Freecycle board. It is a wonderful means of keeping things out of landfills and keeping useful items in circulation. =) , thelilacflower wrote: > > Most of the time I list offers and deliver them. I'm almost always in a members area so I will drop the items off. When I do this I run into people who will ask me if I can take things off their hands, books, magazines, towels, and the wonderful rice cooker I was able to pass to Jeanne. Guest guest
Let's see. Two suggestions. The first is easiest, find a Freecycle closest to you and join. The second (and harder) suggestion is to start a Freecycle group yourself. The information on how to is at the Freecycle site. Wish I was more of a help, darn it! love and hugs, Jeanne in GA Mindy-n-Shawn <hunnybunns4233 wrote: I have heard many of you getting wonderful things off of freecycle, but there is not one for my area any suggestions?
