The kitty animals and doggie animals have stockings. I snatch a few branches from our outdoor living tree and place them on the fireplace or in a large vase. Last year, I bought a small rosemary tree, and it gave a great scent; later, it was dried and used in cooking. In the center of the mantle I place a Nativity, but I have had more than one kitty steal or break the figures, and they love to eat that fake moss from the manger. Perhaps, this year, a marble angel???????????? Have a grand weekend, Jack

Guest guest
I used to have a real tree but for many years now I have had a fake one and I vaporise pine and other Christmassy essential oils. My cats don't really bother about the tree, although I have discovered the odd dead mouse hidden amongst the presents underneath it - you just got to love their generosity, LOL. When they were kittens I made a tree by tying fake pine garland to a triangular trellis which I hung up on the wall on a picture hook out of their reach and then decorated. I live in the city and I hate to see all those trees flung out into the street after Christmas - it seems so wasteful. Guest guest
Your kitties and my baby brother. My mom had a nativity set that she put out each year. There were only two wise men. The story is that my next youngest brother, when he was fairly small, ate the other one - it was paper mache. Goodness knows what he was thinking. My mom put the set out of reach until all children were past the " everything in the mouth " stage and the story became part of the Christmas tradition. :-) Now that we are empty nesters, we often don't have a tree because I won't do it and DH doesn't get to it. We put a couple of ornaments on his bonsai in the living room and call it good enough. Often we'll have a wreath on the door and maybe a kissing ball if I get really motivated. -ginger north of Boston suddenly remembering eggnog!
